the best Newcastle & Hunter Valley wedding venues

There are so many Newcastle & Hunter Valley wedding venues available, I often wonder how newly-engaged couples even get started! My line of work lets me see the best and the worst of it, so I thought I'd write up a list of my favourites to help narrow it down. This is based on a combination of the location itself and the service I've witnessed that comes along with them. All of these spots can host both your wedding ceremony & reception, which is what I always recommend.

I also advise having a look through WedShed. They curate unique wedding venues throughout Australia & New Zealand as well as providing a ton of wedding planning advice.
The quieter cousin of the touristy Pokolbin area, Broke is the perfect spot to get away from it all. Accommodation on-site, incredible views, undercover options for hot or rainy days. The best management team I've met anywhere.
Gorgeous grounds, accommodation options on-site, fantastic undercover options, perfect vantage point for sunset. Plus, catered by Sprout.
This property features a homestead that feels as if the wedding is just at a private house. Excellent grounds for photos and faces perfectly for the sunset.
Circa 1876 Hunter Valley Wedding Venue
Formerly known as Robert's Restaurant. One of the best looking venues in the Hunter accompanied by some of the best food you can get. Can't go wrong.
Margan Estate Hunter Valley Wedding Venue
Also out at Broke, this venue has great views over the Brokenback Range. Beautiful barrel room and top-notch food as well.
Albion has a small cottage, a gorgeous barn and extensive gardens perfect for photos. Reception can be held at the adjacent Woodville School of Arts, which can be booked separately from the gardens as well.
The brand new building on the grounds of Wollombi Barnstay is complete and is unlike anything else in the Hunter. High ceilings & polished concrete floors give this a modern, upmarket feel. Tons of spots for photos around the property as well.
This former church is now host to a whole range of functions, including weddings. Plenty of space along with an adjoining hall. Smack bang in the centre of town which makes it super simple for guests to find walking-distance accomodation.
stanley park wedding
Just north of Newcastle, this stunning property now has a fresh function space onsite. You can also fulfill all your 19th-century old-money real-estate-mogul dreams and stay onsite.
Newcastle Museum Wedding Venue
There aren't as many unique options within Newcastle itself, but the Museum is definitely one of them. They also have a great space for ceremonies, and it's right by the harbour.
The top floor of the Beaches is looking schmick these days! And they have a brilliant outdoor area overlooking Newcastle's finest beaches. Add some lighting to the deck for best results.
Their zucchini flowers are reason alone to have your wedding here. If you know, you know.
Fernbank Farm Central Coast Wedding Venue
How many venues can boast their own horse-drawn carriage? Located near Wyong Creek on the Central Coast, this place is an absolute dream for weddings. Two houses onsite makes planning logistics and timings super easy.
Bells at Killcare Central Coast Wedding Venue
Tucked away at the bottom of the central coast, Bells is there for when only the best will do. Their list of restaurant & hospitality awards borders on the ridiculous.
Warm and cosy with incredible service. Just back from Forrester's Beach, this one is a winner. Plenty of outdoor space to kick back too.
